- (Fade in to an outside view of the Dexter family house at night; cut to Dexter's laboratory; he is seen standing in front of a large computer monitor displaying a wireframe model of the family car rotating)
- Dexter: At last, I have discovered a way to shorten the suffering of those long family road trips trapped in the car with Dee Dee.
- (He jumps off his swivel chair; cut to several bottles and beakers on a desk; Dexter peers in from behind the desk and lowers his glasses; he faces to his left, holding onto a tiny swirling tube)
- Dexter: By blasting the car with antimatter, it can accelerate to near light speed, shortening the trip to an increment of time so small...
- (A drop of purple antimatter falls into a test tube; Dexter picks the test tube up)
- Dexter: Even I could stand to be around Dee Dee that long, and just in time, too. It's sunrise.
- (He looks behind him as the camera pans up to a screen reading "Out Side Conditions", depicting an outside view; the sun rises)
- Dexter: The family road trip begins in 3 hours.
- (Cut to an alarm clock; it reads "5:59", then changes to "6:00" with an accompanying beep; fade to the garage; Dexter, shown as a silhouette with his glasses on, opens the door)
- Dexter: Dad's car: The gilded cage.
- (He walks toward the car and holds up the antimatter in the test tube)
- Dexter: My antimatter will transform this simple vehicle. (he pulls the cork off the test tube) It consists of antiparticles, with positron-surrounded nuclei composed of antiprotons and antineutrons.
- (While Dexter holds the test tube up, a fly approaches)
- Dexter: It will allow the car to travel an infinite number of universes simultaneously, or in other words, really, really fast.
- (Before he could pour the antimatter on the car, the fly perches on the hood of the car; Dexter gasps and the fly recoils; Dexter picks the fly up by its wings)
- Dexter: Don't you realize the dangers of antimatter?
- (The fly shakes its head "No")
- Dexter: If you were touching the car when the antimatter touched the car, who knows what might have happened?
- (He releases the fly's wings; it flies to the right)
- Dexter: Do not interfere with my experiments again!
- (Cut to the car hood; Dexter peers over, with the antimatter still in his hand)
- Dexter: The coast is clear.
- Dee Dee: Dexter, have you seen my Dolly? Maybe I left her in the car.
- (She walks fast toward the car just as a drop of the animatter falls slowly towards the car's hood)
- Dexter: Dee Dee! No!
- (Dee Dee reaches for the back seat door and gets into the car; a yellow light appears; Dexter is sent towards two cardboard boxes, knocking them over and covering him in a junk pile; he peeps from behind)
- Dexter: Dee Dee?
- (Cut to a pink swirl on a white background; the first form is a car body with Dee Dee's pigtails, her eyes as headlights, and her arms and legs as the wheels; she turns back into a pink swirl then appears with her head out of the roof of the car body, her feet as headlights and her arms as the wheels; the pink swirl appears once more, and Dee Dee now looks like a proper car)
- Dexter: Dee Dee, where are you?
- (Cut to the car interior)
- Dee Dee: Right here.
- Dexter: Where here?
- Dee Dee: Here here.
- Dexter: I don't see you.
- (He gets in the car; the car door closes and locks, and the car engine starts)
- Dexter: Uh-oh.
- (Cut to the steering wheel; it moves back and forth; cut to the gear shift; it moves down; cut to the gas pedal; it presses down twice; cut to the outside; the garage door opens)
- Dexter: I think Dee Dee's become the car!
- (Dee Dee quickly backs out of the garage and into the street, knocking over a garbage can along the way; she then speeds down the street; cut to the car's interior; Dexter is bouncing in the back seat)
- Dexter: Ah! My experiment has gone horribly wrong. You must stop at once, Dee Dee. I demand that you let me out.
- Dee Dee: No. This is fun.
- (She snares Dexter with the seatbelt and he is pushed into the backrest; cut to the outside; Dee Dee leaps as she came up the street)
- Dee Dee: Whee!
- (Inside the car, Dexter lands on the seat, and as Dee Dee lands on the front two wheels, she causes Dexter to bounce up and hit his head on the car roof; Dee Dee laughs as she continues down the street)
- (Cut to the inside; Dexter is dazed, then he gets up and tries to reach for the front seat, with the seatbelt restraining him
- Dexter: If we are not home when Mom and Dad want to go on the road trip, you are going to get into a lot of trouble.
- Dee Dee: I don't care.
- (Dexter is pushed back into his seat, and the seat belt covers his mouth)
- Dee Dee: Sit down and be quiet!
- (Cut to the outside; Dee Dee enters from the left and exits to the right)
- Dee Dee: I know. Let's listen to some music.
- (Cut to the dashboard; Dee Dee manipulates the right knob on the radio)
- Dexter: No, Dee Dee, not the girly station. Please, anything but that.
- Dee Dee: There it is.
- (She stops tuning the radio as pop music starts playing; Dexter covers his ears)
- Dexter: No!
- (Dee Dee swerves down the street; cut to a crosswalk; several jockeys and their racehorses are crossing; Dee Dee approaches them)
- Dee Dee: Horsies!
- (She turns to her right; cut to the Santa Juanita Track sign, then pan down to the entrance itself; Dee Dee enters from the bottom and drives toward the track; cut to the starting gates; they open and the racehorses gallop out; Dee Dee exits from the fifth starting gate, attempting to gallop like the racehorses)
- Dee Dee: Wait for me!
- (Cut to a side view; the racehorses gallop to the right, with Dee Dee following them shortly after while continuing to imitate a horse; a man gets up from his seat and pulls out several wads of dollars while his hat flies to the left)
- Man: A hundred bucks both ways on the car!
- (Cut to another view; the horses and Dee Dee exit to the right in the background; an ice cream truck comes in from the right in the foreground and exits to the left; Dee Dee skids on the left set of tires)
- Dee Dee: Ice cream man! Ice cream man!
- (Inside, Dexter is sent toward the window; outside, Dee Dee plows through the fence; cut to the ice cream man; he looks at the sideview mirror of his truck as Dee Dee honks her horn)
- Dee Dee: Beep beep! Mr. Ice Cream Man, wait!
- (The ice cream man recoils then speeds away, with Dee Dee intercepting him)
- Dee Dee: I want a chocolate vanilla fudge swirl sundae.
- (Cut to the car interior; Dexter undoes his seat belt)
- Dexter: You are a car, Dee Dee. Remember? You don't even have a mouth.
- (Dexter frees himself)
- Dee Dee: You just want it all to yourself.
- (Dexter reaches into his lab coat pocket and pulls out an invention, glowing in his hands; outside, the ice cream man speeds around a corner; back inside, Dexter uses his invention to unscrew the car lock; outside, Dee Dee rounds a corner, causing Dexter to fly back into his seat and drop his invention, which rolls under the front passenger seat)
- (Back outside, the ice cream man rounds another corner, with Dee Dee following soon after; Dee Dee stops, causing Dexter to fly toward the windshield; cut to a view of a carnival, with a silhouette of Dee Dee's car standing in the middle)
- Dee Dee: Ooh, a fair!
- (She drives through several patrons; cut to a roller coaster rail; Dee Dee climbs it; inside the car, Dexter nervously looks down as Dee Dee heads down the drop)
- Dee Dee: Whee!
- (She races through the coaster rails, with Dexter screaming and hanging on to the front seat)
- Dexter: Help!
- (Dee Dee continues to ride the rails while rocking back and forth, making Dexter tumble around in the backseat)
- Dee Dee: Whee!
- (She drives over two hills, tossing Dexter around inside; Dee Dee laughs; cut to three rails; Dee Dee goes up and down the rails in the background twice before heading down the rail in the foreground; she stops at the top of a drop and looks down)
- Dee Dee: Woo!
- (The store Toys R We and its adjacent parking lot are shown)
- Dee Dee: Look, Dexter, toys!
- (Cut to Dexter; he appears to be slightly nauseated)
- Dexter: Please, can we go down now? I don't feel so good.
- (His face turns green and his stomach grumbles while he rocks back and forth)
- Dee Dee: Sure!
- (She jumps off the coaster rail and falls straight down; cut to the Toys R We storefront; Dee Dee races toward it; inside the car, Dexter peeps from behind the front seat and screams;)
- (Inside Toys R We, Dee Dee bursts through the doors, startling the customers; she then races up and down the aisles looking at toys)
- Dee Dee: I want one of those and three of those.
- (Cut to Dexter with his hands clasped together)
- Dexter: Please, Dee Dee, we have to get home. Dad will be furious with us. (smirking) No more ballet lessons.
- (Cut to one of the aisles; Dee Dee stops in the middle)
- Dee Dee: (reluctantly) Okay.
- (She backs out of the toy store; cut to a police officer in his patrol vehicle drinking coffee; Dee Dee speeds past the officer, who recoils, and continues down the street; the officer follows Dee Dee with the patrol vehicle's lights and siren on; Dexter looks out the back window)
- Dexter: Oh, no. We are being chased by the coppers.
- (He looks in the sky and sees a police helicopter pursuing Dee Dee; Dee Dee, the patrol vehicle, and the police helicopter all exit to the left)
- (Cut to an alarm clock shaking while ringing; it then pulls back to show Dad yawning while Mom continues to sleep)
- Dad: Rise and shine, honey. It's Sunday, and it's almost time for the family road trip.
- (Cut back to Dexter and Dee Dee)
- Dexter: What if Dad finds out about this? Dee Dee, go faster. Don't pull over, no matter what.
- Dee Dee: But, Dexter, we'll get arrested!
- (She exits to the right with the police helicopter and more patrol vehicles chasing her)
- Dexter: That is nothing compared to what Dad will do if he finds out. We'll be grounded for weeks.
- (Cut back to the house; Mom is in the kitchen making food; she pours a jar of jelly onto a plate)
- Mom: Honey, I am making extra sandwiches in case the kids get hungry.
- Dad: (offscreen) Good idea, muffin.
- (He, while still-framed, enters from the left)
- Dad: Mmm. Pepperoni and jelly, my favorite.
- (Cut to a top-down view of a street; Dee Dee exits to the top while the police force chases her; inside the car, Dexter looks at the fuel meter then at his watch)
- Dexter: Dee Dee, you are almost out of gas. There is only five minutes left before the road trip.
- (Dee Dee approaches the Dexter family house with the police force behind her; cut to the garage door; it slides up and Dee Dee enters, then the garage door closes; inside the garage, Dexter gets out of the car panting; his watch beeps and he looks at it)
- Dexter: Oh, too late. It is 9:00.
- (The door to the garage opens, bathing Dexter in light)
- Dad: There you are, Dexter.
- (Dexter gulps; cut to Dad)
- Dad: You just can't wait for our trip, can you?
- Dexter: But--but, Dad, I have to explain. The antimatter, and then Dee Dee, and then the car, and there was a big flash, and then...
- (Cut to Mom, who is holding a picnic basket)
- Mom: Dexter, have you seen your sister? It's time we got going.
- Dexter: But that is what I have been trying to tell you! She's in the car.
- (Cut to Dad; he presses the red button)
- Dad: Well, good. You hop in, too, and we'll take off.
- (The garage door opens; pull back to show several police officers cocking their guns)
- Police chief: (through a megaphone) All right, everyone, come on out with your hands up.
- (Mom, Dexter, and Dad raise their arms; a backfire occurs, making Mom lose the picnic basket and leaving her, Dad, and Dexter shocked; cut to the police chief and the officers; a second backfire occurs and they duck; Mom, Dad, and Dexter look at the car as it gurgles; Dee Dee is shot out of the exhaust pipe as another backfire occurs; Dee Dee lands on her bottom)
- Dee Dee: Ouch! Excuse me. I guess I wasn't out of gas after all.
- (She starts laughing; Dexter, Dad, Mom, the police officers, jockeys, and the ice cream man all join in; iris close to black)
