Dos Boot is the first segment of the seventh episode in season 3 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on June 7, 2002.
In this episode, Mandark breaks into Computer and creates a virus. Dexter then goes inside to eliminate the virus and get rid of Mandark, but Dee Dee has other plans in mind.
Plot
Dexter is working on Computer when all of a sudden, she stops working and starts getting shut down. Computer has a virus that causes her to crash and die. Dexter needs to go inside of Computer to stop the virus and revive her, so he suits up and digitizes himself to go inside cyberspace.
When he does, he finds that everything seems to be going perfectly okay. Then he comes across a hole in Computer's binary patterning and it is revealed that it came from Mandark, who is inside of his computer giving it a virus. Mandark explains how Dexter opened up a email that he sent to him carrying himself as a virus. When he got in there, he destroyed Computer's binary patterning, causing her to crash. Dexter and Mandark get into a fight, which Dexter wins, then all of a sudden everything falls apart and they both fall down, and find themselves on the Desktop of Computer.
Computer has come back to life, but they are stuck inside of there. Dee Dee then walks into the room and starts playing around with the computer. Dexter tries to get her to get them out, but she does not listen (mostly because despite his shouting, there is no sound). She makes girly pictures of them and prints them out and hangs them up on her wall.

Notes
- This episode spawned a fairly obscure meme format on YouTube, "Computer speak to me". It revolves around the start of the episode where Dexter is panicking to save Computer before her shut down. The meme comes into play when it cuts back to Computer, where her screen is green-screened with another video.
Cultural References
- The metal suits Mandark and Dexter wore are a reference to the suits worn by the characters in the Tron film franchise.
Episode Connections
- The suit that Dexter wore to defeat Master Computer in the episode Game Over returns in this one, though with an inverted color scheme.
Production Notes
- Although this episode premiered in the United States on June 7, 2002, it was actually produced in 2001 according to the credits.
- This episode was finished in July of 2001.[1]
- From this episode onward, the series would be filmed with Betacam-SP rather than the traditional videocassette, resulting in a clearer video quality (no dot crawl). Most cartoons also switched to Betacam around this time (early/mid 2001).
